Not sure what all the digital lingo means? Here’s a list that’ll help you take some of the mystery out of digital and social media.
DIGITAL TERMS:
Interactive: A new form of communications amongst people through the WWW that breaks barriers in traditional vs. interactive media.
Digital Media: Created and distributed by electronic purposes (ads, video, photo, design, creative, development, podcasting, social Media, Web 2.0, Mobile).
Integration: Break silos with an integration of a group or product that is simulated through each group allowing common interaction. Some of these areas include: platforms, systems, resources, workflow, traditional and digital barriers.
Web 2.0: This is the name that has been given as an umbrella term to what is considered to be the next phase of the evolution of the Internet. The new Web 2.0 utilizes technologies such as blogs, wiki’s and other forms of interaction, development and innovation above and beyond the web technologies that have been around since its inception.
Social Media: This is the use of electronic and Internet tools for the purpose of sharing and discussing information and experiences with others online? The term most often refers to activities that integrate technology, social interaction, and the construction of words, pictures, videos and audio.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Search Engine Marketing (SEM): Coined phrases by Google for building marketing and optimization around WebPages in search engines.
