    Sales People Using Social Media for Real Results

    Remember those delicious Girl Guide Cookies? Or the Avon and Mary Kay representatives that used to come door to door – with their catalogs back in the day. They would have a bag of samples of products for you to try, you could leaf through their catalogs make your selections and then your representative would come back to your home and hand deliver your order. None of those things have disappeared – but like everything the methods for which some of those salespeople are now not only finding new customers, but communicating and engaging with their current customers is via social media online.     Community Organizing is a Worldwide Opportunity.

    This is definitely the time of year when we start focusing more on how we can contribute to the well being of others. For some, it’s providing clothes, food and toys at local drives; for others, it’s working at a shelter so that each and every person has a hot meal over the holiday season. The holidays are always a time to see those we care about and celebrate all that we are all grateful for. But my hope, and wish, for the coming year is that we all begin to set our sights on how we can take action in our communities and find ways of lifting everyone up all year long. How great would it be if everyone were committed to ensuring that the basic needs of food, shelter, jobs and education for all children were actually met so that we all can flourish?

    Interesting US Inaugural Tidbit “Couchsurfing”

    It has been a great week. But as it draws to a close, I’m definitely ready to welcome the weekend! Yes—for me the excitement lies in the fact that I am renovating, which has forced me to go through the fun-filled exercise of temporarily packing my worldly goods into bland cardboard boxes. And as I do this, I keep reminding myself that I will survive the Chaos! I will maintain a positive outlook, damn it—despite the fast approaching tsunami of plaster, dust and paint!
